Geographies of Justice Interdisciplinary Symposium

The Geographies of Justice symposium is intended to facilitate interactions between scholars and policymakers from various backgrounds to examine new directions in social and environmental justice. Traditionally focused upon differential exposure to environmental hazards, the concept of justice is experiencing a renaissance with emerging interest in topics such as race, gender, ethnicity and sexuality, the differential socio-ecological effects of climate change, migration and citizenship, and sustainable development within and between developed and developing countries. This symposium will facilitate an engagement with these new directions to push the theoretical and methodological boundaries on justice and the environment.
